Just Outside Your Door

Greetings from Jimmy

Hi everybody! Hope everyone is doing well! We are all doing OK!

The 90-degree days are here to stay and those few 100-degree days took a toll on crews and the turf! Some decent rains during June — a lot of the grass that was turning is on its way back. I see a lot of home gardens that are thriving. A good sign. Hopefully we get through July/August without another sunburst/heatwave!

Weeds — They're here and there but not as bad as in previous years when we were well over average rainfall. The drought does have an effect on weeds also, just not as bad as turf and ornamentals.

Email — Past month or so a lot of my reply emails have been going to your spam/junk folders, especially if your email is a gmail.com. If you do not hear back from myself or Chris there is a problem. We reply/answer to everything. Please check junk mail if you have not heard back. We have a call into Comporium — I'm sure they will get to the bottom of this.

A few years back during a struggle with getting billing sent out on time we had to add another email [email protected] which got us through billing. BUT would like to keep [email protected] around for another 25 years!

6-Step Fertilization Program — Step 3, which is called Perk, was spread on time at all properties. It has everything the turf could ask for to make it through July/August slow cooker. I noticed several properties change a deeper color after application and a rain. Next app is the Calcitic lime Step 4 to balance soil pH before aeration, overseeding, and starter fertilizer in September for fescue turf.

Hope everyone has a Great & Safe July 4th Holiday — and thank you all!
